On March 5th 2016, 9 physicists from Carson Graham arrived at UBC to attend the 38th annual UBC Physics Olympics. The team was lead by Hossein Soltanian to compete with 60 other teams present at UBC. The 6 events varied from purely theoretical to completely hands on and experimental heats. In one station, Hossein Soltanian engineered and fabricated a rice harvester powered by a mouse trap which placed Carson Graham third in the province. In another station, Fermi Questions (dimensional analysis problems) were answered by Parsa Alamzadeh and Jessica Ma which lead Carson Graham to fourth place. Overall, the group outperformed most veterans of the competition even though it was the second time Carson Graham had attended the UBC Physics Olympics.
